1. Good headlight replacement

   The Lionel 6220/622/623 series switchers have a rear headlight located just beneath the cab roof. A standard incandescent bulb in that location is dangerously close to the plastic roof, and could damage it. But the LED replacement makes that a non-issue.

   I use these to replace incandescent bulbs in Lionel diesel locomotives where incandescents would melt plastic bodies.

3. Nothing like an incandescent 1445

   Compared to a "real" 1445, this bulb is dim and sterile. It has a bit of a yellow tint, but it's harsh -- at least as much as it's possible to be harsh when it's so dim. And nowhere near the illumination of a real 1445.
   I also purchased a couple of the more expensive LED-120WW's to test, and they barely any better.
   I also ordered a box of the incandescent 1445's and they were fantastic.
   I would only recommend these if power consumption was a critical factor -- in which case they would help a lot.

4. Ideal for most applications

   These bulbs work great for nearly all replacement applications in older Lionel accessories. The one application I found these to not work in the Lionel No. 395 floodlight tower, as power must travel through one blub into the other.

   These 1445WW bulbs replace the old hot 1445 bulbs that melts the green bulb covers on my A.F.30B transformer.

6. LED Bulbs are Super

   I was looking for a better bulb for 072 Lionel switches and there are two that did the trick:LED 1445WW and LED 1447WW.
   They put out the llight but more importantly, they are cooler and the risk of the bulb damaging the switch lantern goes away, which normal 18V bulb did.

   I used the 1445WW to replace the standard bulbs in my williams streamline Passenger cars. They made changing over to leds simple and fast and cut the power consumtion by over 60%

    the are the best led's I have bought. I bought from 2 other places and was not happy with them. they are true white.
