Replaced bulbs in Lionel 022 controllers. Fit in exactly like incandescent bulbs. Stays cool, draws less power so switches snap better (I have 10 wired on same circuit).
Since it's an LED, the light is not as dispersed as an incandescent - much of the light beams straight up to the ceiling. Overall, nice glow.

nice brightness and cool burning. using them in the controls for an american flyer orginal switch controller works perfect don't have to worry about the blulb melting the plastic around it if I have it on a long time.

Just restored two Lionel 022 track turnouts with incandescent bulbs. One controller red & green transparent bulbs and the other with frosted red & green bulbs. The frosted bulbs produced a softer glow while the transparent bulbs produced a blinding glare and both were very hot to the touch.
Replaced them with L.E.D.s and heat issues vanished as did the excessive glare although a frosted globe could soften the glow a bit. Also using less power helps. I like L.E.D. bulbs for home & automotive use and will using more in the future for my model RR.
